CP Dinner and Dance 2004

On November 20, 2004 The Parma Elks Lodge held their 19th annual Cp Dinner Dance. Over the years the event held every year on the Saturday before Thanksgiving, has raised over $58,000 which they have donated to the Ohio Elks Association as part of their annual donation to Cerebral Palsy.

The annual event is based on a Spaghetti Dinner, open bar, door prizes, raffles and a Dj for dancing. The food and bar supplies including liquor are all accumulated through donations from members and members actively seeking donations. This years event collected over 250 door prizes from members and various sources. Very little expense is charged to the committe and lodge.

The Event is coupled with the Coin Banks which are passed out to anyone who wishes to participate. The Coin banks also known as Penny banks suggest a donation of a penny a day and each bank is worth $3.65. Donations exceeding $3.65 accumulate and each bank donated is worth 1 entry for a door prize. The event is open to the public to help raise funds for Cerebral Palsy.

The Ohio Elks Association has chosen Cerebral Palsy as their state fund raising activity. In addition to the Lodge fund raiser , The Northeast North District holds a formal Ball in late September or Early October at which time the annual donations collected are presented to the Greater Cleveland Cerebral Palsy Center. Last years donation collected from various lodges, districts and supporters provided a donations to over 34 Cp related agencies across the state for over $300,000.00. Of these donations, nothing goes to administration and all of the donation goes to the children afflicted with CP. Since 1987 the Northeast North District has provided donations to UCP of Cleveland in excess of $415,000.00.
