For Your Holiday Planning Purposes
ER’s Wheeling, WV Casino & Festival of the Lights Bus Trip
Tuesday, December 2nd, 2008

Come and join ER Ed and his wife Marie on a one-day trip to Wheeling, WV. We leave our Lodge at 9 AM sharp on Tuesday, December 2nd, 2008, and enjoy the pleasant ride to Wheeling, WV arriving about noon. We’ll spend about five hours at the exciting Wheeling Island Casino!

As dark approaches, we’ll board our deluxe motor coach for the short ride over to Oglebay Resort, where we’ll enjoy the Winter Holiday “Festival Of Lights”. Following this unique Holiday Experience, we’ll head back to our Lodge, arriving back about 9:30 PM.

The cost for this entire day, combining the fun of the Casino with the spectacle of the magnificent Christmas Light Display is only $30.00 per person.

Please call Bev Driver at (440) 882-6495 for reservations, and drop your check in the drop box at the lodge, or mail it to Ed or Marie McGrath, 15201 State Rd., North Royalton, OH 44133-5326. Reservations are on a first-paid basis, and no money will be collected on the morning of the trip. Marie and I are looking forward to seeing you.

Elks Give-A-Christmas

Late in October or early November, you will receive a letter that will explain, in detail, the Purpose and Objective of our Give-A-Christmas program. As in the past, we need your help and your support.

Over the years you, the members, have demonstrated the warmth and spirit of benevolence by freely and generously donating to the less fortunate. Each year, Parma Lodge 1938, with the support and assistance of our Boy Scout Troop and Cub Scout Pack, has been able to make the holidays better and more meaningful for many needy families by presenting them with fully-stocked food baskets.

Any member of the lodge who would like to sponsor a needy family should complete the form, which accompanies the letter, and return it to me by Monday, December 1st; as in the past, all names will be held in complete confidence.

In addition to your financial support, we again will need volunteers to help collect the food, with the scouts, on Saturday, December 13th at 10:00 am. If you can help, please be at the lodge hall at 9:30 am that morning.

Also, we will again need help with the preparation and delivery of the baskets on Saturday, December 20th. We ask that those who can help please be at the hall at 8:00 am that day, as we plan to begin deliveries by 10 am. Finally, I’d like to take a moment to thank everyone who has helped in the past, with money or time and effort, and thank you once again, in advance, for your continued help and support in this annual “Holiday Sharing” event.

Ed McGrath, Exalted Ruler

PARMA ELK’S ANNUAL
CHILDREN’S CHRISTMAS PARTY
Saturday, December 13, 2008
From 1:00 – 3:00 pm
(Doors open at 12:30 pm)

It is almost that time again…..Santa will be on his way to the Elk’s Hall to see all the children and grandchildren (1 month to 10 years old) of Elk members.

When he does get here, pictures will again be available for you to purchase. The donation of non-perishable food items for the Elk Christmas Basket Food Drive is the only cost of admission. To thrill young and old alike there will be clowns, face painters and other surprises while we wait for Santa to arrive from the North Pole. Our Christmas Toy raffle will be back in November with raffle tickets available in the Lounge and at the party.

A sign up sheet will be on the bulletin board in the Lounge or call Bev Driver at 440-882-6495 for reservations. It is VERY IMPORTANT that you indicate YOUR NAME, EACH CHILD’S NAME AND THEIR AGE AND WHETHER THEY ARE A BOY OR GIRL. Please note the list will be taken down and reservations closed on December 1st so that Santa’s Elves have time to make all the presents.
