Youth Scholarship Programs
MOST VALUABLE STUDENT SCHOLARSHIPS
Scholarships are open to any high school seniors. Starting September 1, 2009, the pared-down application will be available online at http://www.elks.org/enf/scholars and at Elks Lodges.
The student’s work experience, community service, honors and awards, leadership and extracurricular activities, citizenship, family income range and status, and exhibits. The counselor’s report, transcript and ACT and/or SAT scores are also required. Applications are due November 2, 2009, to the Lodge closest to where the student lives. This deadline is very important - no applications will be accepted after this date.
The 500 national finalists will be required to submit a secondary application online, which will include an essay, aid received to date, college plans and a parental financial statement.
LEGACY AWARD SCHOLARSHIPS
2010 Legacy Award applications will be available ONLINE ONLY starting September 1, 2009. These applications must be submitted online by January 8, 2010.
Any child or grandchild (or step-child, step-grandchild, or legal ward) of a living Elk who joined the order on or before April 1, 2007, or a charter member of a Lodge that was instituted on or after April 1, 2007, is eligible to apply. The Elk must also be a paid-up member through March 31, 2010. Great-grandchildren are not eligible.
The applicant must be a high school senior.
The applicant must apply online only at http://www.elks.org/enf/scholars.
If the applicant's parent and grandparent are both Elk members, the applicant must apply through the parent's Elks Lodge.
Students may apply for more than one ENF scholarship; however, they may win only one. In cases where the student qualifies for more than one, we will award the scholarship with the greater value.
Legacy Awards may only be applied to accredited US American schools, colleges or universities.
Applicants must take the Scholastic Aptitude Test or the American College Test by December 31, 2009.
